How the Dutch Science Agenda will be developed
A small number of themes, a large number of questions
The Dutch National Research Agenda will contain the research questions that scientific research will focus on in the coming years. A large number of questions to science lie at the basis of these research areas. The Dutch National Research Agenda has been launched on 27 November 2015.
The Dutch National Research Agenda chairs Beatrice de Graaf and Alexander Rinnooy Kan invited everybody to submit questions to science on behalf of themselves or on behalf of parties from science, industry or civil society organisations. The questions can be of importance for science itself, for the solution of societal challenges or for the utilisation of economic opportunities. The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences in collaboration with the Young Academy assessed whether the questions submitted provided a challenge for scientific research areas in which the Netherlands excels or provide opportunities that will allow new research areas to flourish.
